2007 FAAWIS Picnic Continued:
Gifts were given as free raffle tickets were drawn
throughout the day, a new touch, which added to the excitement of the
picnic. Many donors contributed raffle items but I cannot fail to
mention Mrs. Lucy Pascual, who surprised us when she arrived at the
picnic with her personal load of gifts, all of which were very nicely
wrapped. Everyone waited in anticipation for their numbers to be
called and many went home that day with unexpected gifts.
The memorable and successful event was made possible
through the dedication, hard work, and innovative ideas of the picnic
committee: Chad and Nicole Albaňo, Patrick, Moloney, Ferdie Ramos,
Becky Toledo, and yours truly. I would also like to specially mention
Paul Guzman, who took the lead in building the Bahay Kubo and
continued his assistance with his ideas and relentless work throughout
the day. The liveliness of the picnic was also made possible by the
energetic and talented emcee, Chad Albaňo.
On behalf of the FAAWIS picnic committee, we thank all
of our generous donors, without whom the success of the event would
not have been possible. The FAAWIS Board thanks the committee for
their hard work and to all other volunteers who helped make the event
a success. FAAWIS thanks all of our friends and families for coming to
the picnic and for the delicious food everyone brought. We hope to see
you all again next year!!
