MEET THE PRESIDENT 2014

It is with great humility that I introduce my wife, Joyce Wing Coury. Joyce was born in Davao City, Philippines and migrated to the United States in 2003. She is the 2nd daughter of Joe and Mila Wing. She has one older sister, Jeanette Wing Un and two younger brothers, Joseph and Jonathan Wing.

Joyce grew up in Davao City and as a younger adult she was active in various school activities and functions that led to her passion in community service. She was President of the Youth and Children’s Organization in her local church for years that included organizing visitations to the Home for the Sick and Aged, outreach to the Orphaned and Abandoned children, led Bible study groups, taught Sunday school to the children and organized numerous fellowship picnics, events and summer camps.

She received her Bachelors degree in Accountancy at the Ateneo de Davao University and graduated cum laude with honors. Shortly after she passed the licensure examination and became a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines. She briefly worked at the Government Service Insurance System where her mother worked as the Chief Finance Officer before moving to the U.S.

She started her career as an Accountant and later on became the Controller of Elizabeth Residence & Companies Incorporated. During this time, she also managed and grew a home care agency business, Hearts To Home Senior Care.

Luckily, I got to marry this wonderful smart young lady and we started our “little” family. Our first and only daughter, Kelly Lee (8) was born followed by Richard Gavin (6), two years later. Just when we thought we wanted one more baby, we were blessed with two! Then came identical twins Mark Joseph and Michael John (4). Our little family was little no more and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Our family is complete.

Joyce possesses a tremendous work ethic and is a natural leader. When she takes on a task she gives it her 110%. She is very dedicated to her family, work and to FAAWIS. Most importantly, she has great respect for Philippine culture and her countrymen. As President, I know she will continue to preserve the legacy of FAAWIS in promoting the Filipino culture and tradition here in Wisconsin.

I invite you to join FAAWIS Spring Bowling on April 5th 12pm at JB’s on 41 and come meet FAAWIS 2014, President Joyce Coury, and our “little” family. We would love to meet you all.

Yours, Richard F. Coury a.k.a. First Gentleman

P.S. Please see flyer in this newsletter for more spring bowling information.
